French bedding set from the early 20th century, consisting of a top sheet and a long pillowcase. This set is part of a period trousseau and has never been used.

History of the object: Early 20th-century French textiles were characterized by the use of high-quality linen and exhaustive manual labor. These sets were part of the trousseau (dowry) of young women, kept for decades as pieces of family value. The lace and embroidery work reflects the mastery of Belle Époque French lingerie.
