Antique and vintage vases: porcelain, ceramic and glass

The vases here range from 19th-century Old Paris porcelain and German porcelain by makers such as Hutschenreuther and Bareuther, to English Art Deco pottery, Spanish pieces from Manises, mid-century West German fat lava ceramic, Murano and opaline glass. Prices and sizes vary widely. Each listing names the maker or workshop when known, the period, the height and any restoration.

How to assess a vase

• Hold it to the light and look for hairline cracks, particularly around the rim and the base. Known cracks are always described.
• Look at the gilding and hand-painted details for wear, which is normal on pieces that are decades old.
• Check the base mark in the photographs. It helps identify the factory and the period.
• Note the height and the mouth width if you plan to use it for a particular arrangement.

Shipping from Spain

Vases are fragile. They leave Spain by tracked courier after 1–3 business days of preparation, and the cost depends on weight, dimensions and destination. Please inspect the parcel on delivery as explained in the delivery policy.

Frequently asked questions

Can I put water and fresh flowers in an antique vase?

Unless the listing says otherwise, treat vases as decorative. Old ceramic and porcelain can have hairline cracks that are not visible at first, so a glass liner or dried flowers is the safer choice.

How do I identify the maker?

Start with the mark on the base, which is shown in the photographs when it exists. Wording such as "style" in a title means the piece resembles that tradition rather than being made by that maker.
