Decoration

Vintage and antique decoration for collectors and interiors

This section gathers decorative pieces that do not belong to a single material or period: framed prints and paintings, porcelain centerpieces in the Dresden and Saxon tradition, picture frames, clocks, lacquerware and replicas of historic objects. Every piece is a single find from Spain or elsewhere in Europe, so the selection changes constantly. Each listing gives the maker or workshop when it is known, the approximate period, the materials and the size.

How to judge a decorative piece

• Check whether the listing describes an original work, a print or a reproduction. The title and description say which, and the photographs show the surface, signature or printing.
• For framed items look at the frame, the glass and the backing separately. Wear on gilding, small chips or repairs are mentioned when present.
• With porcelain, compare the applied details (flowers, figures, handles) with the close-up photographs, since they are the most fragile parts.
• Measure the space first. Dimensions are given in centimetres in the title or description.

Frequently asked questions

Are the paintings and prints originals?

Some are, but many are decorative prints or reproductions. Each listing states which, and describes the technique, the signature and the frame. If anything is unclear, ask before you buy.

Can I combine several items in one order?

Yes. Shipping is calculated automatically at checkout from the total weight and size of the parcel.
