Solid cast bronze Buddha bust following the aesthetic canons of the Ayutthaya style (Thailand). The piece shows a notable technical execution, characteristic of Southeast Asian artisanal foundries from the mid-20th century.

Object History: The Ayutthaya style is distinguished by a serene and stylized physiognomy. This sculpture incorporates traditional Buddhist iconographic elements: the cranial protuberance or flame (ushnisha) symbolizing spiritual enlightenment, and the hair represented in small tight curls (snails). The face shows an expression of deep meditation with half-closed eyelids and a slight smile, typical of Thai devotional statuary.
