Presenting an exceptional example of the Orion stone building set, manufactured by August Meinecke in Rudolstadt, Germany, in the late 19th or early 20th century. These types of toys, known as Steinbaukasten, represent the pinnacle of German industrial-era educational materials.

History: The town of Rudolstadt in Thuringia was the global epicenter for the production of artificial stone building blocks. August Meinecke was a prominent manufacturer who competed directly with the well-known Richter’s Anchor blocks. These blocks were made from a pressed mixture of quartz sand, chalk, and linseed oil, giving them a texture and weight similar to real stone.

Details and Specifications:
- Period: Approximately 1890-1910.
- Technique: Pressed artificial stone and color lithography on paper.
- Box Dimensions: 22 cm x 16 cm x 4 cm (8.6 x 6.3 x 1.5 inches).
- Materials: Pine wood, mineral stone composite, paper, and cardboard.
- Condition: The set is in an authentic state of conservation. The original wooden box shows patina and slight structural wear. The top lithographic label has visible losses and cracks. The stone blocks retain their shapes, although some show natural white mineral efflorescence due to age. Includes the original instruction manual with architectural diagrams, which shows edge wear and foxing.

Value and Application: This set is a historically significant piece for collectors of technical toys and miniature architecture enthusiasts. Its value lies in the integrity of the set (box, blocks, and manual) and the rarity of the Meinecke brand in today's market.
