Set of two miniature porcelain jugs from the Nakasima manufacture, Japan, produced in the 1930s.

History: Manufactured during the early Showa era, these pieces represent the sophistication of Japanese export porcelain known as Dragonware. The Nakasima firm was noted for the expert application of the Moriage technique, consisting of hand-applied liquid clay relief, and the use of metallic lustre finishes that provide a characteristic iridescent glow of the period.
