Traditional two-level shaving vessel, known as a scuttle, produced by James Kent Ltd. in Staffordshire, England.

Object History: The 'Old Foley' line by James Kent is one of the most recognized series of 20th-century Staffordshire ceramics. This specimen features Chinoiserie-style decoration with polychrome peony, bird, and butterfly motifs, complemented by deep cobalt blue foliage and hand-applied gold trim. The functional design allows for hot water in the lower reservoir to maintain the temperature of the brush and lather in the perforated top section.
