This oval fruit bowl was manufactured in uranium glass (vaseline glass) using the pressing technique. The piece is notable for its intense green fluorescence under ultraviolet light exposure, a technical feature achieved by adding uranium oxide to the glass mass.

Object History: Produced during the Great Depression era (ca. 1930-1939), this type of glass was valued for its vibrant hues and affordability. The design features scalloped edges and a faceted body reflecting the transition from Art Deco style to the functional forms of the interwar period.
