Antique Isabelline hand-embroidered silk shawl (Mantón de Manila), dating to the 19th century. This authentic Spanish collector piece features monochromatic cream-on-cream embroidery executed entirely by hand on a natural silk base, adorned with elaborate floral motifs and peacocks in the four corners.
The Isabelline style (Estilo Isabelino) developed in Spain during the reign of Queen Isabella II (1833–1868). These shawls, originally imported from Canton via Manila, became synonymous with Spanish high society and traditional festive dress. The monochromatic embroidery represents one of the most elegant and highly sought-after variations of this historical textile art.
