Description:
This is a rare and exquisitely preserved antique baptismal sheet (sábana de bautizo), handcrafted in Spain. Made from high-quality, lightweight batiste cotton, it features a masterfully hand-embroidered central composition including Christian attributes, ears of wheat (symbolizing the Eucharist), and delicate floral motifs.
The center also features the hand-embroidered initials "CM". The entire perimeter (all 4 sides) is trimmed with delicate cotton lace and decorated with traditional handmade hemstitching (merezhka).
Its large size and immaculate condition make it a museum-quality piece, perfect for a modern christening ceremony or as a cornerstone of a textile collection.
