A set of six antique plates from the famous German manufacturer Villeroy & Boch, produced at the historic Mettlach factory at the beginning of the 20th century. The pieces feature the refined 'ASIA' pattern, characterized by an Art Nouveau aesthetic with cobalt blue floral motifs applied using the underglaze transfer technique.

Object History: The stamped mark with the effigy of Mercury identifies Mettlach production between the late 19th century and 1909. The 'ASIA' design reflects the European interest in Orientalism and the stylized nature typical of the Modernist period.

Technical Details:
- Period: 1900 - 1909
- Technique: Blue underglaze transferware
- Diameter: 25 cm (9.8 inches)
- Material: Ceramics (Fine earthenware)
- Quantity: Lot of 6 units

Condition Report: The pieces show severe signs of age and use. Significant chipping is observed on the edges of all plates, along with a dense network of crazing in the glaze and organic oxidation stains (darkening) typical of antique earthenware. Due to these defects and the porosity of antique ceramics, these plates are offered exclusively for decorative purposes, display, or historical study. Food use is not recommended.

Value: A set of great interest for collectors of the Villeroy & Boch brand and Mettlach style, ideal for period interior decoration projects or for the study of turn-of-the-century European ceramics.
