We present a large decorative tureen from the prestigious Hispania manufactory, Valencia, Spain. This specimen stands out for its refined Neo-Baroque design and its prominent finial on the lid.
Object History: The Hispania brand was one of the most prominent porcelain firms in the Valencian Community in the mid-20th century, recognized for its high technical quality before being absorbed by the Lladró group. Its large-format pieces with naturalistic applications are highly valued by collectors of European ceramics.
Technical details:
- Period: Circa 1950-1960
- Technique: Molded and glazed porcelain with polychrome and gilded decoration.
- Dimensions: Total height 30 cm (11.8 inches), height without lid 15 cm (5.9 inches), maximum diameter 26 cm (10.2 inches).
- Material: Hard-paste porcelain and fine gold.
- Condition: It is in very good state of conservation. It shows minimal natural wear on the gilding of the handles and edges, consistent with its age. No visible structural restorations.
