Antique kerosene lamp (quinqué) in tabletop format, characterized by its refined floral decoration and ornamental metal base.

History of the object: This piece belongs to the transition between the 19th and early 20th centuries, a period in which oil and kerosene lighting reached its peak of decorative refinement. The technique of painting on frosted glass (verre dépoli) was widely used by European workshops, especially French ones, to create a soft, diffused light in the domestic interiors of the bourgeoisie.
