Fine porcelain coffee set consisting of a cup and saucer, manufactured in Limoges, France, for the New York importer Lazarus Straus and Sons (LS & S).

Object History: The LS & S France mark with the fleur-de-lis was used by the firm Lazarus Straus & Sons in the early 20th century. This company, linked to the founders of Macy's, specialized in importing luxury European porcelain. The design features a sober aesthetic with an enameled black exterior contrasting with a fully gilded interior, a refined technique characteristic of the transition to the Art Deco style.
