Polychrome porcelain sculpture representing a European Bee-eater (Merops apiaster), produced by the Spanish manufactory Hispania in Manises, Valencia.

History: The Hispania firm, part of the Valencian ceramic tradition, stood out for producing high-quality technical figures with gloss finishes. Their ornithological representations are valued for their modeling detail and chromatic fidelity.
