Object History: Starting in 1965, Avon began the production of a series of figurative containers known as "decanters." These limited editions transformed daily grooming products into display objects, using various themes such as fauna, transportation, and history. Production of these containers ceased in the mid-1980s, making them reference pieces for 20th-century cosmetic paraphernalia collecting.
