This lot features a set of four vintage demitasse coffee cup and saucer pairs from the iconic Botanic Garden collection by the British manufacturer Portmeirion. Each drum shaped cup features a distinct botanical illustration Speedwell Veronica, Cotton Flower, Heartsease Viola, and Daisy Bellis perennis complemented by saucers decorated with the signature green laurel leaf border.
The Botanic Garden pattern was designed in 1972 by Susan Williams-Ellis, inspired by early 19th-century botanical illustrations. Produced in Stoke-on-Trent, England, this range became a benchmark of 20th-century British tableware design. All pieces carry the original Portmeirion backstamp on the underside.
