History: Founded in the 18th century, Sarreguemines reached its technical peak in the 19th century, renowned for its 'céramique opaque'. This piece belongs to the tradition of 'assiettes parlantes' (talking plates), popular during the French Third Republic, which used humor and everyday satire to entertain diners.
