Set of six soup plates from the emblematic 'Obernai' series, manufactured by the French manufactory Sarreguemines. This service is one of the most recognized in European ceramics, noted for its detailed illustrations of rural life in Alsace.

Object History: The 'Obernai' decoration was originally conceived by the artist Henri Loux (1873-1907) around 1900. His watercolors capture the essence of Alsatian villages, their traditional costumes, and their half-timbered architecture. Production of this series continued for decades due to its great popularity, becoming a classic of French earthenware.
