Pair of small Chinese porcelain tea bowls decorated with the "Thousand Flowers" (Mille Fleurs) famille rose floral pattern, hand-painted in the 1970s in Jingdezhen, China.

Object history: During the export period of the second half of the 20th century, the manufactories of Jingdezhen produced these meticulously decorated pieces for the international market. These small cups reflect the overglaze enameling technique, where the entire exterior surface is densely ornamented with floral motifs leaving no background exposed (a style known as "Wan hua bu lu di"). The interior bottom of each bowl features a hand-painted traditional female figure.
