Rectangular tray from the French manufacturer Sarreguemines, belonging to the famous Obernai series. This tableware line is renowned for its illustrations of rural life in Alsace.

Object History: The motifs for the Obernai series were originally designed by artist Henri Loux (1873-1907). His folk scenes capture the essence of Alsatian folklore and have been produced by Sarreguemines for decades, becoming an icon of French earthenware.
